Prayer of Confession

Heavenly Father, we confess that

   there are times we are overwhelmed by our troubles;

   there are times we feel alone in our worries;

   there are times we become too cynical to hope.

 

Forgive us

   for doubting your love, 

   for being tempted by despair

   and for allowing our devotion to dwindle.

 

Have mercy on us, O Lord.

   Open our eyes to your glory, 

   our minds to your greatness

   and our hearts to your power.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
